We stayed here for two nights and found the Munras Lodge to be a very nice place to stay.
The reservations were simple, and the office staff was very helpful. The maids did a very good job at cleaning and were willing to accommodate us when we asked them clean the room at a later time. When they cleaned, they did an excellent job.
We asked the staff for an extra towel and pillow at one point and they were waiting for us in the office when I went to go pick them up.
The room itself was spacious, but not very luxurious. Its an older hotel and could use an upgrade, but for our purposes it was more than sufficient. We were in town for a wedding and were not going to spending a large amount of time in our room. The bathroom had all the amenities one would expect, shampoo, soap, a hair dryer, coffee, and the room also had a micro-fridge.
They had high speed internet access in all the rooms, and when we connected, it was a breeze.
The room also had a nice little gas fireplace, while although it wasnt fantastic, it was a nice little touch to have one.
They have a really huge hot tub, but when we visited, it was being renovated with new tiles, and it was closed. If you really want a place with a hot tub, you may want to call and ask if they have re-opened the hot tub yet.
They serve a continental breakfast in the morning, complete with a self service Belgian waffle maker. They dont have a huge selection of items, but if you just want to eat something on the go, its not bad. Theres a fast food establishment just down the block if you want something a little more substantial, but otherwise it, was OK.
We had a very nice stay, and the price was very good, considering how much is being charged locally for other hotels. Its not far from anywhere in Monterey, but since Monterey is a relatively small place, its hard to find a bad location here.
