53 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
I don't know what the 63 yr old woman who gave a poor review of this hotel was talking about. This is a log hotel! What does she want? The Ritz? The rooms are just regular, run of the mill rooms, but they are clean and the staff is extremely friendly. They allow dogs, which is a great plus for my husband and me. Sure, the rooms aren't exactly "interesting", but you don't go to Stanley for a room. You go to Stanley for what's outside of the rooms! The hotel sports a wonderful "hot tub". It's actually a natural hot springs which the hotel has built a structure around, it has a concrete floor and changing rooms and is supplied with barn type doors, which swing open to reveal the fabulous Sawtooth Mountains, while soaking your cares and pains away. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family. It's a suitable hotel for those who come to these mountains to enjoy the natural world surrounding you. It's a wonderful hotel with super friendly staff and the only restaurant in town, along with a grocery store, liquor store and clothing/gift shop.
