We arrived a little before check-in time and were allowed to check-in early since our room was already cleaned. We stayed in the King/Jacuzzi suite and were very pleased. The room was large, bed comfortable, and everything was clean.
It was chilly during our stay and the fireplace was wonderful. We stayed 3 nights and although the hotel was fairly full, we never heard a thing from our neighbors. The trolley stopped right at our room door.
The prices were a lot lower than other comparable hotels and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great deal in the Smokies.
Would not make it a point to stay there again.

Mediocre
The motel was an ok place to stay. The beds are very hard, along with paper-thin walls. We could hear conversations in the next room, outside, and the shower/water above us. The location was good, but kind of secluded on a dead street. I would...

My wife and I arrived in Gatlinburg at Mountain House Inn about 8 pm on December 28th after a long drive from Atlanta. My wife had called for a guaranteed reservation with a credit card number several weeks prior, and, as we knew we would have a long drive and be arriving late, we requested the guarantee on the room and were repeatedly assured that the room was guaranteed.
When we arrived, the clerk claimed that the people in "our room" became sick and so we had no room. The clerk at the desk admitted that other people had checked out and they gave those rooms to arriving guests. Then, another clerk arrived and she blew her stack because we complained that our guaranteed reservation had not been honored. We will never stay there again, nor can we recommend it to anyone staying there.
We have stayed there since the early 90's, but this is the second time in six months they have played with our reservation. Its a pity, but then, they don't seem to care.

Good
After checking several motels apparently owned by non-americans, it was wonderful to talk with someone I could understand. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is great, just a block or so from many attractions. ...

This is a great hotel, family owned and managed, and very close to Smokey Mountains National Park, just a mile. You can escape all the traffic from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
It is minutes from everything, you can just go on a walk to downtown Gatlinburg for shopping, its walkable distance to the tram to Ober Gatlinburg, Gatlinburg Aquarium is one block away.
Downtown Gatlinburg is one block, restaurants only a short walk away. We stayed there for 2 nights, plenty of free parking, price is very reasonable, they have a free morning coffee too. Staff is very helpful and very good, Rooms were kept neat. Would love to go to Smokeys again and will stay here only.
