This Motel 6 has recently completed its renovation as part of our plan to upgrade all our locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Atascadero Motel 6 is located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco on U.S. Route 101. The location is convenient to area wineries and the Atascadero Zoo & Park. Also, this Motel 6 is just a 40-mile drive from Hearst Castle.

Just for sleeping in Atascadero. I enjoyed the humblings of staying in a two-star hotel. I found a blue pill on the floor under the sink and a black wiry hair on the "clean" washcloths by the sink. The stand up shower is an event - the curtain tries to stick to you while you're in it and you have to put your foot on the sink next to the shower to shave your legs. The location is great - less than a five minute drive from the Pavilion on the Lake where we attended a wedding.
I am not likely
to return to the Motel 6 Atascadero CA.
I would not recommend it to friends.

Had reservation for room at Motel 6 in Paso Robles, Ca with late check in request (after 4:00 pm). Arrived at 11:00 pm and they had given my room away. Nothing available at other hotels in Paso Robles. They referred me to Motel 6 in Atascadero (approximately 10 miles South). Arrived at 11:50 pm. Male employee very rude. After I paid for room he advised me there was no parking and I should have made a reservation. I reminded him that I did at the Paso Robles motel. He refused to give me my money back and I had to park on the highway, away from the motel. Room was absolutely the worst I could imagine. Actually smelled like someone had died. Sheets were filthy and stained. Bathroom had not been cleaned. Hair in sink and on toilet. My daughter and I had to spray perfume on napkins to stand the smell. Didn't sleep and left at 5:00 am. This room cost $79.00 and I should have just given the money away and slept in my car. Their was no customer service and after the employee told me there was no parking he threatened to have my car towed if I tried to park in an empty handicap spot!
I will never ever stay at Motel 6 again and I will advise anyone to stay away.
