My daughter and I visited Versailles to attend a funeral and we stayed 2 nights at the Montgomery Inn. The owner was gracious with our last minute reservation and made us feel completely welcome. Her daughter and son were very helpful and sweet. As we arrived early in the day, they gave us a lovely tour of the home. A very nice touch. Each room is so different and has it's own special touch.
We stayed in the Maple Suite and it was lovely. The bed was comfortable and the decorations sweet. My daughter really enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub. There were several nice books in the room as well as travel guides and local attractions and restaurants. The DVD movie selection was wonderful.
Our breakfasts were fantastic. One morning we had thick bacon with pancakes with fresh strawberries, blueberries and bananas. The other morning we had thick bacon and (out of this world) French Toast with an amazing cream cheese nutty spread. The cooking is fabulous. As I grew up in Versailles, on our next visit we plan to invite the family over to enjoy their dinner. We can't wait to return. I am now able to fully appreciate the charm of such a lovely town that I grew up in . Funny how you don't realize until you move away.
