I spent a three day weekend at the Marriott hotel in Monterey, California. I was pleased with the overall service and hospitality. The hotel is only two blocks up from Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium as well as many other fun and interesting places to visit such as the various shops with souvenirs.
The room I stayed in was cozy, with one bed and it had a desk with a chair as well as a comfy lounge like chair. Aside from the fact that just getting away was relaxing, I found the overall atmosphere to be calm and serene, too.

The swimming pool is totally uncontrolled, hence there is always people, and not only kids, screaming as much as possible with absolutely no consideration for the others.
The employees do not care.
If you want to relax, go somewhere else, as any daylight times is a nightmare. What's the point to go to a Spa in these conditions.
