traveling with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
First of all, I must say that I read the casino reviews for the Monte Carlo befor making reservations. Some reviews were bad and some were complimentary. However, after our stay, I can definitely confirm that all of the negative reviews that I read were absolutely correct (So be sure to read them). We booked our reservations online for a king size bed, non-smoking room. Upon our arrival at 11pm, we were told that our room was not ready..can you believe this? So, we had to wait while the room was cleaned, (keep in mind that hotel check-in time is at 3pm). Anyway, we finally got to go to our room and discovered that someone else was already in our assigned room # (pathetic). We had to return to the front desk again and get another room # since we obviously were assigned the wrong room #. TOTAL INCOMPETENCE should be the name of the front desk employees. It gets WORSE..When we got inside our room we noticed the following: 2 queen beds instead of a king bed as reserved, a large pubic hair (thats right) in the bathroom sink, absolutely filthy bed comforters with cigarette burns on one and a blood-stain on the other comforter...DISGUSTING. We actually took pictures of the pubic hair and the cigarette burns/blood stains on the comforters. We intend to forward these to Monte Carlo Management. I would not even walk inside the room without shoes on.. For the same money I paid, I could have stayed at a better quality-controlled casino/hotel. I was satisfied with the other aspects of this hotel, with exception to the hotel rooms which need a major overhaul with new linens, carpet, etc. I definitely will not be staying at the Monte Carlo again..I expect much more for the money. Needless to say, our expectations were initially high, but upon arrival they steadily were lowered with disappointing hotel rooms.
