The Monte Carlo features everything from elegant decor reminiscent of the famous Monaco playground to top-name entertainment. The Monte Carlo's main production show is one of the best in town. Performing in a 1,200-seat showroom custom-built for his unique show, master magician Lance Burton is the only winner of all four major international magic awards. Other performers include top-name entertainers. Most of the hotel's attractions were designed for guests who like to participate. Next to the pool area are three lighted tennis courts and a pro shop for rentals and lessons. The golf concierge can help you set up a round on the links. For the young at heart, the Street of Dreams has a variety of retail stores and an arcade with state-of-the-art video games. The Monte Carlo also has 25,000 square feet of convention space, a wedding chapel, florist, fitness facility, and a full-service health spa and salon. Located near the south end of the Strip, the Monte Carlo is across from the MGM Grand and next door to New York-New York. The 102,197-sq. ft. casino features over 2,000 slot machines from nickels to $100 machines, more than 90 table games, poker tables, and a keno lounge. The hotel does not provide airport transportation.

May 2009. If you decide to stay at Monte Carlo please, please, please make sure you do not leave anything in your room. I am 53 years old; I work for the court system and I value myself as an honest person. I have no intention of ripping-off this establishment for a measly $100.00 worth of possessions. I contacted the Monte Carlo the day after I checked out to request the return of a bathing suit (hanging on a towel rack in the bathroom) and sweatshirt (hanging in the closet). After several days of leaving messages and speaking with their Security Department, I received a letter from Denise Chilipka-Oltay, Claim Rep for Monte Carlo who stated the Monte Carlo is “not responsible for reported missing items, are unable to compensate the loss, and hope this incident will not deter my visiting Monte Carlo again.” I again say please……if this hotel does not hire honest maids, how safe is your property in your room? I will NEVER stay there again and I will tell EVERYONE else the same thing.

With all the hype about Las Vegas - we thought we were in for a great little 4 day get away! Boy, were we disappointed! I don't think we will ever plan another trip there and if we do, we sure won't stay at the Monte Carlo. We spent a lot of money there and the comps are terrible. We ended up getting 2 buffets a piece and we ate at the dinner buffet once while we were there and it was comparable to a Luby's, but twice the price. Taking advantage of our comped buffets when we checked out almost took an act of congress. The people at the players club are very inexperienced and every time you want to know about your comps they have to get on the phone to some secretive "marketing" person. The front desk is just as bad - they can't tell you anything about your comps. Therefore everyone is sending you running around from desk to desk.
The rooms are okay, but don't expect fresh towels daily and don't expect coffee in the morning when you wake up. Unless you pay the outrageous price for room service coffee or go downstairs and purchase coffee from McDonald's or Starbucks. Another thing - bring your own sodas or water with you to the room because there are no complimentary bottles of water left in your room and the soda machine on at least 2 floors that we checked was taped up and out of order! After going to two floors looking for a soda machine that worked, we just gave up and went back to our room.
They did not have wifi internet access. You had to plug into an ethernet port and then that did not even work. You could access the internet by PAYING a $5 minimum at a little public kiosk in their lobby. If you want to print your boarding passes from there they charge you another $1 per page!!!!
The slots were so tight that we did not see anyone winning anything. We spent a lot of money and playtime in their casino and it was crap.
My advice: don't go. If you want to go to an excellent hotel/casino that knows how to treat their patrons and don't want to travel to Las Vegas, try L'auberge du lac in Lake Charles, LA. It is a gorgeous hotel and casino, great staff, friendly people, wonderful food, and complimentary beverage bars in the casino for sodas, water, and coffee.

We've been to Vegas many, many times, but this was our first stay at Monte Carlo. Everything was absolutely terrific--our suite, the casino, everyone who works there, and even the food.
