So we took off for an overnight trip to South Lake Tahoe on Saturday. We had never stayed at Mont Bleu before, so we thought we would give it a shot. Not exactly a 4 star, they claim it is, but it worked for a short get away. After dinner, some game

Excellent
Very nice rooms..I reserved a delux room and was plesantly surprised at how nice the room was. I was attempting to exit my room and the door wouldn't open because of fresh paint on door jam. Needless to say I was not happy. The staff were more...

Horrible
After reserving (8 weeks in advance) wedding day appointments at their spa for hair, makeup and nails, I called to confirm only to discover that they had booked makeup, pedicure, and nail appointments ONLY. The hair person was now booked because it...

Mediocre
Hotel is OK for under 100 bucks per night for a deluxe room. Pros: Rooms offer lots of space and have a nice bath tub. Cons: The time you walk in you notice that this hotel goes back to the 80`s. I didn`t stand bare foot on the carpet. Needs...

46 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We got put on the 8th floor to discover it is the pet floor, nothing but barking dogs and stench. Had to take our bags all the way back down to change rooms because the phone in the 1st room didn't work. Our second room was dirty, stains on the carpet, soda can behind the night stand, dirt in the corners. Jacuzzi tub upstairs very noisy, of course they were using it at 3 am and it woke us up. Conciernge very unhelpful, they charge extra for every thing even when you are paying $200+ per night (4th of July). No one in the entire place could give us good info on viewing the fireworks. Buffet is a rip off, way too expensive for what you get. Cafe called 24 was pretty good. Over-all this place is a dump, and it is only catering to gamblers. We'll never go back.
62 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
My wife and I arrived June 20, 2008. After VIP check-in we went to our room (810) and found it to be very large with a nice view of Lake Tahoe. The furniture was worn but quite servicable. All the staff was very friendly. The food at 24 and the buffet was very good. We're returning next month and will write a review then also. We can hardly wait to come back.

I had a suite. The decor was hideously out of date - think 70's mafia, drug and prostitute movie. I could have lived with that, but the room was so dirty! Major stains on the chairs - to the point that I would not sit on them. The vent was falling down from the ceiling and the air conditioning did not get cold. The refrigerator did not work, so I called the front desk and a new one was brought up (2+ hours later). Its door had sticky drips down it. When they tried to move the old one, they found the cord was plugged in behind a screwed in piece of wood, so had to plug the new one in beside it. In moving the old fridge around to try and unplug it, I saw that it had not been cleaned under/around since 1970. It was very GROSS!
I finally went down to the front desk to see if I could be moved. I had to wait until the "mess" of checking out was done (their words, not mine) and then I was moved to another room...I was downgraded to a regular room and it was not much cleaner. I was amazed that the front desk just did not care! I had several run-ins with them (about various things) throughout my stay and would have left the hotel altogether if I had not had a conference at the facility.

I've stayed at the Montbleu before but this time they charged a "resort fee" which covered a host of misclaneous stuff like newspaper, valet parking, use of pool, fitness center, etc. This was not included with the room rate provided by the travel...
