46 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We got put on the 8th floor to discover it is the pet floor, nothing but barking dogs and stench. Had to take our bags all the way back down to change rooms because the phone in the 1st room didn't work. Our second room was dirty, stains on the carpet, soda can behind the night stand, dirt in the corners. Jacuzzi tub upstairs very noisy, of course they were using it at 3 am and it woke us up. Conciernge very unhelpful, they charge extra for every thing even when you are paying $200+ per night (4th of July). No one in the entire place could give us good info on viewing the fireworks. Buffet is a rip off, way too expensive for what you get. Cafe called 24 was pretty good. Over-all this place is a dump, and it is only catering to gamblers. We'll never go back.

62 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

My wife and I arrived June 20, 2008. After VIP check-in we went to our room (810) and found it to be very large with a nice view of Lake Tahoe. The furniture was worn but quite servicable. All the staff was very friendly. The food at 24 and the buffet was very good. We're returning next month and will write a review then also. We can hardly wait to come back.

I am very likely to return to the MontBleu Casino Resort and Spa.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

member icon GROSS!

36 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for business

I had a suite. The decor was hideously out of date - think 70's mafia, drug and prostitute movie. I could have lived with that, but the room was so dirty! Major stains on the chairs - to the point that I would not sit on them. The vent was falling down from the ceiling and the air conditioning did not get cold. The refrigerator did not work, so I called the front desk and a new one was brought up (2+ hours later). Its door had sticky drips down it. When they tried to move the old one, they found the cord was plugged in behind a screwed in piece of wood, so had to plug the new one in beside it. In moving the old fridge around to try and unplug it, I saw that it had not been cleaned under/around since 1970. It was very GROSS!

I finally went down to the front desk to see if I could be moved. I had to wait until the "mess" of checking out was done (their words, not mine) and then I was moved to another room...I was downgraded to a regular room and it was not much cleaner. I was amazed that the front desk just did not care! I had several run-ins with them (about various things) throughout my stay and would have left the hotel altogether if I had not had a conference at the facility.

I am not likely to return to the MontBleu Casino Resort and Spa.

Awful
member icon Barely pet friendly and filthy

39 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We came here because we were able to bring the pets. Beware, the "pet" room we had was filthy.

Carpets that had been 1/2 cleaned (enough so that you could see how dirty it still was)

Material on the padded walls that CSI Tahoe would collect for a DNA sample (too high up to be pet related)

Very noisy plumbing.

A beautiful view of the roof behind the hotel.

Metal fire door in front of elevators was closed when we woke up no access to elevators - no notes - no indication why?

A dog park? - it is a patch of grass across the parking lot next to a fairly well used back road running through it - no fence! - It wouldn't be called a dog park in any other location on this planet.

Spa: average to above average

Hotel: disappointing

Casino: average - no different than any other casino on the block

Food: Ciera - pricey but above average to good 24 - upscale diner

If you are thinking of going to Montbleu & enjoying a getaway with your pets - Don't, I won't.

40 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

I received a free upgrade to a king-sized bed room with mountain views and a jacuzzi in-room, all for my $79 price. So, that was great right there! I found the service and cleanliness of this hotel to be excellent, contrary to some reviews. The jacuzzi is wonderful, big enough for two. The rest of the bathroom is also nice, with Aveda toiletries provided. The bed was very comfortable, with nice linens and a lush comforter. The indoor pool area is very, very nice, with a very large, nicely decorated pool. Also, a huge hot tub/spa that seats about 20 people. It all leads to a lovely outdoor patio with seats and pine trees. The sound isolation in the room was lacking, so you might need earplugs to sleep well. I could hear dogs barking and people talking as they walked by my room. The place allows pets, which is a plus if you're a pet owner, I guess. Though at least I couldn't hear plumbing or noises from other rooms, only noise from the hallways. So, that's better than some places I've stayed.
