46 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for business

The rooms were filthy. We were there on conference and we had to switch rooms 4 times in the first 2 days. Other Attendees had the same issues. In the final room, we did not unpack for the last 2 days, we were afraid to. The last night, house cleaning only came and pulled up the sheets, my head print was still in the pillow. They did not restock the coffee, there was still my coffee cup (with coffee still full) on the counter and the coffee cream was still on the counter. After backed up sinks and tubs, placing us in a filthy room to shower, moving us to a room that had dried vomit on the side of the end table and not having a cleaned room, their idea to resolve the situation --- one free breakfast. Their policy is not to comp rooms. My idea of resolving the issue, letting the world know about thier terrible hotel.

I am not likely to return to the Millennium Hotel St Louis.
I would not recommend it to friends.

PROS:

*it had a nice view of the city

*does have a great location for Bush Stadium, the Arch & other things downtown

*the lobby is very nice to meet up with people & have a drink

* they do have parking right across the street, just for hotel guests

* they had a business center one could use to print out your plane tix, but they charge by the minute & if you use a credit card, the minimum is $3 charge.

CONS:

* The hotel was revamped around the late 90's early 2000's, but has severely gone down since then

* The tv was pretty bad...like a late 80's set!

* Bathroom is ridiculously small

* The room is furnished poorly, there is no place for you to put your suitcase and a super small closet

* The elevators are super slow & always busy...better to just take the stairs

* When you take a shower, the floor gets soaked b/c the curtain doesn't stop the water!

*There is no wi-fi in your room, only down stairs in the lobby & still you have to pay the same fee for dial up!

*the south tower is something out of 1985 and the north tower is really not much better

*the bedspread and the blanket had cigarette burns all over it & so did the ONLY chair (we asked for a non-smoking room)

We were recommended this hotel for a wedding party group of rooms. I found it to be more like a Ramada Inn or a Best Western, in terms of the quality. True the hotel has 2 places to dine and a nice bar area, but that is really the only "hotel quality" ammenities they have. The rooms are ok, but they aren't as nice as you would expect from a hotel.

If you are going to go to a Cardinal's game...this is a super great place for you to stay. You could just walk over to the stadium. Actually, that is exactly what the large majority of the people who stayed there were doing. As for a wedding party, your parents are in town, need to get away, I totally give it a thumbs DOWN!

If you want a nicer place to stay, try the Hyatt next door.

Just a side note parking is $20/day. Don't think you'll find something on the street either!

The location of the Millennium Hotel is perfect! Scotts Trade Center is a 15 minute walk. Busch Stadium is one block up the street and the Arch is a block away. The room we stayed in was not plush or stately and we weren't looking for that. It was clean, comfortable and we found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Terence, one of the Bellmen we met out front, went out of his way to help us with directions and to assist us in getting checked in. For the price we paid for the room, we got a steal of a deal and I can promise we'll be back soon! St Louis is an awesome city to visit and the Millennium Hotel is a great place to stay while you're there.

We booked through hotwire.com at $49.00! My wife and were both a little nervous about the hotel because of the bad reviews. The folks at the front desk were VERY nice. We parked the car and walked to the Arch. Later when we got a good look at the room (we arrived before normal check in time) I noticed the room was clean and the view from the 8th floor was wonderful! We COULD see the arch and the fountain in front of the hotel below. Busch Stadium was also in view. We were there to attend the Van Halen concert at Scott Trade Center which is just a 15 minute walk away. The entire staff was very nice and attentive. Room service was great as was the food.

If you're looking for new furniture in your room and big screen TV's, our room didn't have any of that. HOWEVER! Everything worked and was CLEAN in room 877. It was nice, not NEW. It was comfortable, not PLUSH. It was the BEST DEAL we've gotten on a hotel room in a LONG TIME! I would have paid twice the price for the room and location! But I'm sure glad we got it 50% off!
