46 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The Millenium Biltmore has a beautiful entrance. Absolutely gorgeous. I would highly recommend using the hotel for a party. However, that's the only thing I would recommend it for. I went to the Biltmore hearing all about its history and grandeur. I saw the lobby and the function rooms and was very excited to stay in LA for the next five nights with my husband and four children.

I hated every moment I spent at the Biltmore. I reserved two rooms for five nights to hold the six of us. We ended up spending one night. The rooms were small and dark. The bath room was tiny and there was no mini fridge. For the price and reputation, the rooms could used a major facelift. But that's not my real complaint.

The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. It took the bellman seven hours to deliver our bags. They repeatedly told us they were on their way; we wasted most of the day waiting around for our bags and calling down to ask for them. This was after giving the bellman ten dollars when we arrived. The bellman told me he would deliver the bags right away after I gave him the tip-I was planning on giving him more when he delivered the bags, which happened seven hours later. This brings me to tipping: for the one night I spent at the Biltmore I spent over $100 in tipping (even with horrible service they constantly pushed for bigger and more frequent tipping).

The rooms were dirty: I found a cigarette butt on the hotel floor of my non-smoking room and the tiles were black with mildew. I asked for a cleaner room after seeing the cigarette. They gave me two choices and both of the rooms were equally disgusting. When I told them I was not satisfied and I wanted a refund of my money, they told me that they had given me two choices so I should just check out and they would not bill me for the night. At this point it was two in the morning. I have four children and they were asking me to check out. I was so dissatisfied, I checked out. They still billed me for the night.

I COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW INCONSIDERATE THEY WERE.

I spent the night sitting on the sofa in the lobby after checking out at 3am. They let me know that they didn't care at all about me or my family since I was clearly not going to stay with them anymore. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone who actually plans on spending a night unless you bring your own cleaning crew.

first, it took an hour to check into our rooms. i have a family of six. we asked for two rooms next to each other. this was impossible. second. it took hours for them to deliver our bags. literally hours. maybe i didn't tip them enough on my way in for the $32/day parking. next, and my biggest complaint for such a historical hotel, the rooms were dark and appeared to have never been cleaned.

the bathroom tiles were tainted black and there were CIGARETTE BUTTS in the corner of a non-smoking room. on top of that, the road noise reached all the way up to the ninth floor and i couldn't fall a sleep because of a party being held in or around the hotel until 2am.

i requested another room so i could get to sleep. they gave me another room that was even dirtier. i was not pleased. so they asked me to check out. at this point it was three in the morning and they were asking me to check out with my four children in a city we've never been to before. i hated every minute of my stay at the biltmore

i would never recommend this hotel. EVER. unless you just want to take a picture in the beautiful lobby.

Though I know it was considered both an historic and luxury hotel, the cleanliness and the furnishings of the guest room were below par. There was also a noticeable odor in the area of the hotel where the more casual dining restaurant was located.

I am not likely to return to the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
I would not recommend it to friends.

It was a good value and location if you were staying in the downtown LA area. Upon check-in, we requested and emphasized a quiet room, but were given a room with a lot of street noise. They moved us to a quieter, but much smaller room when we requested a change. It took, up to forty minutes to get the car from valet parking. The handicap room my mother-in-law had was up on the seventh floor and was hard to maneuver in. The tub there was impossible for her to use. The housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient. The lobby and ground floor areas were beautiful and great for special events.

This hotel made me feel sophisticated: The lobby and ground floor areas were very beautiful and well appointed. The concierge was on duty every time I needed a question answered. The bar area was well done and comfortable for intimate or group conversation. Several formal events like weddings and debutants were being hosted at the hotel during my stay and it was interesting to watch people.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
I might recommend it to friends.

40 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The Millennium Biltmore is one of the classic hotels in downtown Los Angeles, which has undergoing a bit of a renaissance thanks to newer attractions such as the funky Disney Concert Hall designed by architect Frank Gehry. This attractive hotel has a massive masonry exterior that fills up the city block and makes its presence felt. Its east side faces Pershing Square, the oldest public park in Los Angeles. The hotel displays "Old World" elegance thanks to its grand 1920's public spaces decorated with fountains, classical ornamentation, coffered ceilings, murals, and fresh flowers. The check-in process was simple thanks to the cordial staff. Our spacious club-level room had a large bed, sitting area with coffee table and fake fireplace, and the bathroom was nice too. There was a bench seat at the foot of the bed, always a nice touch. Breakfast was served in the club lounge with nice views overlooking the park. The place can fill up with business travelers, so the seating can be scarce as well as the tasty food selections and fresh juice. The elevators can be on the slow side and the hallways are long, but that may be expected in a large older property such as this. The rooms are fine here at the Millennium Biltmore, but definitely save a bit of time to gawk at the magnificent interior and exterior details throughout the property.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
I might recommend it to friends.

The service was perfect, the location was downtown Los Angeles. The room was excellent, very clean and fresh.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: From the desk clerk to the baggage personnel, they were all right there to get us logged in and to our room as soon as possible.

I am very likely to return to the Millennium Biltmore Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
