28 year old female with a budget, traveling for leisure

Many of the other reviews have already summed up the experience you can expect here. This is not an EconoLodge anymore, just a locally owned place.

Like others, I was forced to stay here as it was the only place in town with vacancy. What a bad idea. I'd have gotten better sleep in my car! The room was disgustingly dirty. There were brown stains on the bathroom lightswitch and the dirt gathered around the baseboards was visible from across the room. The walls were paper thin, and it's right on the highway. The only other people staying there were truckers. The window wouldn't lock, so I felt really unsafe all night. The bed was rock hard, and it was cold because the sheet was worthlessly thin.

On top of all of this, they charged $80.00!!!!! I'm appalled. This placed should be condemned. I'm so angry about my experience that I can't even sum it all up in one review.

DON'T GO HERE IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT.

45 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for business

I stayed here in Feb 2007 because all the other properties were full.

I should have known when I asked 4four other properties if there were any rooms elsewhere in town, and none of them mentioned this place.

It is right on the very busy, noisy, highway. The walls were thin and you could hear other guest door hinges squeaking throughout the night. The outdoor stairs to the room were crumbling and unsafe. The windows filthy, there was no blanket on the bed. The carpet was dirty with caked mud. It was a large room, but the bathroom was tiny. I think I have had more room to sit down on cruise ships.

Really, it was just awful and it was almost $70 for a single upstairs room with tax. It’s not an Econo Lodge, either.

69 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for business

My wife and I recently stayed at this motel and the manager was short and discourteous when we checked in. He called the room before checkout time and announced that we had seven minutes to check out. He then came to the room, banged on the door, and demanded that we leave. He used foul profane language and as a result I would advise all travelers in the McAlester area to avoid this motel like the plague. He seemed to be intoxicated as best I could tell. I have never seen a motel host act this way before. All travelers beware!

I would not recommend it to friends.

35 year old male with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

The motel is in a quiet location, with speedy check-in and check-out. It had friendly service.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Midway Lodge.
I might recommend it to friends.
