It was our worst experience ever and it's still continuing. Our night started off by hearing someone in front of us in line complaining about there being blood on their sheets.
All the other hotels were booked and we supposedly had a room reserved. The lady at the front desk couldn't find the key for what was suppose to be our room so she went to the back room and came out with a key for us. Warning: They make you pay for your room before you even see it! We walked down the hallway to our room and tried to open the door. Our key turned the doorknob, but the door wouldn't open. After trying a couple times, we hear the deadbolt unlock. There was somebody already in our room.
After that, we made our way back to the front desk and told the lady what had just happened. She swore there was nobody checked into that room and said that we could have the room that the previous gentleman was complaining about because he had decided not to stay there (smart man). We refused that offer and then she offered us the employee room. We accepted that and I started to hand her the key to the other room. She tells me that the key will work on the employee room as well. In fact, it would work on every room in the hotel. We had in fact been given a skeleton key for the hotel.
We went to our new room only to find that there was no garbage can, no working phone and no alarm clock (basics of most hotels). Originally we were going to stay for 2 nights, but we decided to cut that back by one night. I went to the front desk and explained why we came to this conclusion and I asked for a change in the billing. I am then told that there are no refunds for rooms (there's a small piece of paper on the front counter that says that, but there were other things on top of it at the time we checked in).
The next day I was told to talk to the manager about this. He at first seemed very eager to help us out with this situation and apologized for how bad our experience had been. I gave him all the information he would need in order to get back in touch with me. To this date (roughly 3 weeks later) the amount has not been changed on my wife’ credit card. He has not gotten back in touch with me and all attempts at calling are met with no answer.
This hotel shouldn't even be allowed to be open. They had horrible service, dirty rooms and a staff that's about as helpful as breeze on an already cold day.
