If Microtel (aka U. S. Franchise System, Inc) does not attend to poor franchises like this one, they may find the better Microtels take their business elsewhere.
I have stayed at scores of Microtels and I now question whether I will ever stay at another. My luggage was moved from the room I originally was placed in and I was assigned another one that was noisy and near the lobby. Finally at 1:30 am since I was unable to sleep due to noise in the hallways, I was given a musty room with no towels, no soap, and no blankets. I tried to request my money back from this hotel by letter without success. The only way a person can complain in writing to Microtel is on a web generated page.
I will contact the Better Business Bureau of Augusta and also ask the City of Augusta to investigate code violation at this hotel (which is a whole another story).

The stay was decent but there were two incidents, the telephone was not working properly, not because of the phone line, but because of the equipment needed by the telephone itself. Another reason were the ants that I had in my bed. Luckily I noticed the ants well before I was tired and I told the front desk. I was moved to another room.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Microtel Inn and Suites Augusta.
