Microtel Inn Charlotte Hotel

We recently booked a room at the Microtel Off I-85 in Charlotte, NC. It was a race weekend and rooms were heavily booked. We got to the room about 11:00 on a Friday night. It was NASTY. Bedding was stained...with holes. Carpet was nasty. Bathrooms were terrible. They would not give our money back. We left anyway, but had to drive home, couldn't find a room. Got home at 4:00 in morning.

The staff seemed to care it was late and we were tired.

I recently stayed at this hotel because I wanted to leave my car there. I would be returning late at night and did not want to deal with a public parking lot. I was given information about the "Park and Fly" Service, and I was charged $13 extra for the service, I was given a sheet of instructions on how to use the service and I was required to complete a form that included my returning flight number. When I returned to Charlotte at 11:30 pm and called as directed, I was told that they did not provide this service after 11 pm and that I would have to take a taxi to the hotel to get my car. I was left with no alternative but to do this even though I had paid for an arrangement that would keep me from using public transportation late at night. No mention was made of return the fee I had paid for this service.

I was given a room on the third floor. I stepped out of the elevator and the filthy carpet just turned my stomach. A friend had checked into a single smoking room, it was worse than the hall carpet. We were both there for less than twenty minutes. We checked out and went some place else to sleep. Stay away!

They offer a good product for the price. They have comfortable, clean, rooms and beds. The desk clerk seemed a bit unfriendly but did his job okay. I would use this motel again.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: They provided a very nice continental breakfast.
