Microtel Inn Charlotte Hotel

This was the nastiest hotel I have ever been to!

The general assistant manager was very rude to all of her guests and the hotel general manager was the owner. We took a high school group to Charlotte and when we arrived at 4:30 to check in, our rooms were not ready!

Check in time is supposed to be 4:00 p.m., however, we did not get in our rooms until 5:20 p.m. The maintenance men would not fix our toilets because they got off work at 4:30 p.m. but they were still hanging around the building grilling steaks and drinking beer, and in front of our high school students! This was just and overall bad hotel and I would never go to another Microtel Inn.

It's in a great location to the track, their breakfast was not deluxe by any means, it was the same old thing every day. The rooms are too small, but I was lucky to get there on such short notice since the Studio Plus did not honor my reservation that was made January 2006. They were supposed to pay the difference or one night's stay of $149.00 but we decided to come up on Wednesday, so they screwed us and only paid $54.99.

On the 5th of July 2006, I arrived at midnight by taxi from Amtrak to find that this hotel had double booked my room. There was no room for me. The Microtel guide book outlines the measures staff will take in this inept situation that is to find space elsewhere and refund costs.

No help or consideration of any kind was offered to me, except to ring a taxi to get rid of me.
