Excellent place to stay. Had the kids with us, they had a blast. Staff was very helpful and extremely friendly. A little pricey, but we knew that going in, so it was not a surprise. The food at Chuck's was pricey, but it was very good. You can buy food a short distance away for a fairly reasonable price. Maybe 30 minutes to the airport (Honalulu).

Don't believe the 6.9. This is one of the best resorts we have ever stayed at. The room was a regular one-bedroom w/ Kitchen and not the lock-out room. It was well appointed and the layout was great. Service here was excellent. Staff treated us well and gave us lots of recommendations on places to go, things to do, etc. Food quality was pretty good at the poolside grill and even better at Chucks (the dinner restaurant). Prices were within expectations for a resort (this isn't a budget hotel). The bay was a great place to swim/snorkel or just layout out on the sand. Very Impressed and we travel quite a bit! The pools were clean with plenty of lounge chairs etc. Great place for family or a couple wanting to get away from the little ones. Beautiful views from spacious Lanai's. Don't think we could have asked for more. Plan to go back!

The resort is beautiful and out of the way. It takes about 30-45 minutes to get to Honolulu, if that's where you want to go. I am surprised at reading these reviews as they don't mention the additional and endless costs. This place does not nickel and dime you, they hit you with $5's and $10's. The staff is friendly, the resort is like a small fantasy-land and the grounds and rooms are well-taken care of.
However, the food is terrible in two respects: 1) it is VERY expensive, and 2) it is more suited to a cafeteria than a resort. I had a hamberger (frozen patty) and a beer by the pool: $23!!!! We had breakfast at the cabana: omlette $16!!! They charge $20 per day for parking. The rental rooms are VERY small, about 11' X 20', more like a cruise ship. They are "lock-off" units of time shares. We stayed with 3 people and were walking on top of one another. A cup of coffee and roll in the morning is $8!!! They charge you $20 per day to change the linen, otherwise, they simple make the bed. The security is so tight, they will not let you leave without using your room key to open the gate.
There are a lot of nice things about this 1st class resort, if you don't mind second rate food and 5-star prices.

My wife and I, my 4-year old daughter, and in-laws had a wonderful stay there. Beautiful pools, lagoons, and ocean views. Peaceful and perfect getaway from the crowd. My wife and I have no problems to drive for 20 and 30 mins to Waikiki and other places in the island. 10min drive away, you access many grocery stores, shops, local restaurants in Kapolei. We stayed in the club for the last 2 days, just wanted to enjoy the surrounding and explore. There are still many activities we did not have time to do. We will be definitively back.
The club is still under constructions for its remaining 2 buildings. Most of club staff are very very nice, and the service is OK. Some staff maybe inexperience. The only complaint my wife and I had is the Internet service. The speed of both wired and wireless connection is very slow compared with other 5-star hotels. On the other hand, that becomes a good thing for us, that gives us more time to relax and enjoy the vacation. :-)
We bought the timeshare without hesitation. It is going to be a great vacation investment for my family and my daughter. :-)

I was born on Oahu, and I stayed at the Ko Olina Beach Club in Oahu in September with my sisters, who have ownership in the timeshare through Marriott. I thought the resort was very beautiful, and staff very helpful. If you're a person who wants to rest, this is most definitely the place to go. Truly the most beautiful place to stay.
