The city of Hilton Head will be undertaking a beach renourishment project during the autumn of 2006. This project will start in September on the beach in Port Royal Plantation by the Westin hotel and move south. The active area being worked on will be approximately one thousand yards wide across the beach. This area will be closed to all foot and boat traffic. The pace will be about 150-200 yards south along the beach per day. The work will continue rain or shine twenty-four hours. Engine noise will be minimal, but guests will hear the back-up beepers that OSHA requires on all major equipment. The noise will be continuous throughout the project. * Please note Marriott's Grande Ocean will be undergoing a complete refurbishment of five of its ten buildings from January 5th through March 26th 2007. Approximately one hudnred fifty units will be renovated. There will be construction noise from 7am to 7pm daily with limited parking. Spacious, well appointed rooms and no hassle/hustle. Enjoyed every moment we spent there (Nov 30 - Dec 5 2007). Guest services were always prompt and courteous when we had questions.
We didn't find the outdoor pools to be heated as we thought they would be...this is the only thing that keeps me from rating it 10.0.

This was my first visit to my timeshare home resort. The grounds are lush and tropical. There are numerous pools, hot tubs, and a beautiful,clean beach. The room was great except for some cleanliness issues which the housekeeping department tried their best to correct. Other than that, this resort is outstanding.
