46 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

we have been to the j.w marriott and loved it, unfortunately they were booked. we only had a long weekend and only wanted to relax. when we arrived there were huge lines to check in. the room was fine but at check in we were handed a slip of paper that said the pool was closed that afternoon the next day and half of friday. we tried to get something to eat at the bar but they wouldn't serve us because they were closing for tha convention. same thing happened at the food court. we ate at solaris and the food tasted very good but after we ate we both ended up sick in bed the rest of the night. the bed linens on the bed were made for a smaller bed so they kept falling off, and yes there are a lot of hidden fees. needless to say instead of staying thursday thru sunday we left the next morning. i just couldn't justify spending that kind of money and not be aloud to use the amenities. long story short it is not a resort it is a convention center. we felt like the third wheel.

30 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

This was my first stay & the hotel bragged to be a "resort". That it was. At the pool bar, a 10oz margarita in a plastic cup was $9.95 plus the automatic 20% gratuity that is always added to your bill. Parking was a nightmare. If you wanted to self- park, it was $13 a day & you had to wait for a shuttle when it came around. You couldn't walk to your car- it was a mile away! Then, if you had your car valeted, it was $18 a day & we usually waited about 30 minutes or more for our car to be brought to us. The Steakhouse in the hotel had steak dinners for $44. All of the restaurants were priced that way with the exception of Champs, which was the sports bar. So, it was better to eat off- property. There was no complimentary coffee in the lobby- just a Starbucks that of course, you had to pay for. Internet access- $15.00/ day. Elevators were slow. The pool was great, the beds really comfortable. But, after a 5-day stay, including the price of our rental car, we could have stayed at an all- inclusive for the same amount of $ that we spent.

20 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for business

It is an extremely large and nice hotel with a very friendly staff and very comfortable rooms. It has a nice lobby and beautiful views.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: The hotel was huge and it offered a variety of restaurants. It featured beautiful architecture.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Marriott Orlando World Center.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The hidden charges for parking and internet were unacceptable. We were not advised of any charges for parking (self $7 and valet $18). We were told there was a sign, which is located at valet--which was at a side entrance--in which guests do not use. The hotel manager was not willing to compromise and tried to tell me we were advised of cost. She wasn't there. We had 4 witnesses. For the prices at this hotel--it is so amazing to me that they charge for parking. Most hotels give free valet or cont. breakfast. The food was very expensive and was not that good. We wanted to order "Pizza Hut" and take it to the pool and they advised they would have to bring it to your room for 20% and $3.00 charge. But we could go to food court for pizza which was not Pizza Hut and you could only get pepp or cheese topping.

The pool was wonderful but again to order by the pool was so expensive. Juice or water was $2.50.

Managerial staff was rude to guests and other employees. The manager would never consider helping fix our valet prices. It isn't the fact that we were charged, it is the we were made aware of the charges. Also they left a paper on the last day only-us today--but we were advised if we refuse the paper daily we are still charged? What is wrong with people. The hotel appears to be wonderful--but it has problems that they do not want to fix.

The first night we were there--we were on the 10th floor and there wasn't a room above us --but it was ceiling was leaking. We told them and advised them it was ok to look at it the next day --but it was never mentioned. It was so bad that the couch in the room was wet and water was running down wall.

I know I have been rattling on and on but I just got back and my mind is racing. I am not done complaining and plan to notify whoever I need to. They want to be notified if you are not happy so they can fix the problem--well they didn't want to fix anything.
