This is one of the best hotels in New York City and the elevators are a big reason. Not only are they a sight to see, but they are an efficient system. During peak rush hours (5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on a Saturday evening) waits are as long as 5 minutes. At other times, the elevators whisk you quickly to and from your room to the first floor or the beautifal 8th floor atrium where the elevators system stands tall as a sight to behold.

Marriott has now installed in its 41-story New Orleans hotel the same elevator system recently installed in the NYC Marriott Marquis. I was there for four days last weekend (11/10/07 - 111/13/07) and I think the new system is excellent. It quickly and methodically distributes passengers among the hotel's elevators. I was staying on the 40th floor and never had more than 4 or 5 stops on the elevator going up or down. Occasionally there was a bit of a wait, but nothing unreasonable. I expect this system to be installed in all of Marriott's mammoth hotels, such as San Francisco, Atlanta, San Antonio, etc.

It was a beautiful hotel centrally located to the Broadway plays. I loved the revolving bar and restaurant at the top of the hotel.

This hotel made me feel secure: They had lots of hotel security and regular employees very visible.

I disliked the elevators, they were too slow.

It is very nice, located in a very crowded and busy part of New York, but central.

It had an older feel. I was expecting more for the money.

The location met my needs and I felt welcome and safe there. I was especially pleased that the hotel operator could answer questions not only about hotel services but about the location of places within the city.

This hotel made me feel welcome: All the employees looked right in my eyes when speaking to me upon arrival. They were quick with my luggage and polite.

It was a great location, but very crowded and the elevators were very slow on weekends. The hotel had great rooms and great views on the upper levels.

It was a very pleasant stay for one night, right on Times Square. The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable and the food in the restaurant was very good.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: The service at check in was extremely easy and everybody was polite and seemed to know their job.

It was very nice and convenient for the conference I was attending. It was comfortable, clean and very nice. The only problem was that the elevators were pretty slow!

I absolutely loved the bedding, it was the softest and the most comfortable.

I have no problems with the Marriott hotel. It is fine, but one cannot find a hotel in New York City these days for under four hundred dollars.

The Marriott chain is always the best, with nothing unexpected, clean and the staff is always there to take care of your needs. I have been traveling for forty years and I always try to stay at a Marriott property.
