37 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for business
I stayed at this hotel in November, 2007 for a conference being held in the San Diego Convention Center. The best thing I can say about it is that the location is excellent. It is in walking distance from the Convention Center, Petco Park, and the Gaslamp District, and a short drive to Old Town and the airport.
Despite the reduced conference rate, I felt like I paid too much for what I received. While the room was OK, the bathroom was never properly cleaned, the carpet in my room was pretty tired and worn, and the walls are so thin I could hear my neighbors using the bathroom!
Stay here if the location is most important to you, but there are many other hotels in the immediate area which might offer more value for the money!
I am somewhat likely to return to the Marriott Hotel and Marina San Diego. I might recommend it to friends.
