We left the room for breakfast leaving a DND sign on the door. When we returned, the room had been entered and cleaned. I had a fairly large valuable item sitting by the sink in the bathroom that disappeared. The maid(s) claimed there was not a sign on the door. It was even still on the door when we returned from breakfast. Although the hotel partially reimbursed us, and admitted they had broken their own policy to enter the room, they have still not made it right. They are now referring us to a higher authority and warning that we may get even less then was previously paid to us if we pursue this.
It feels like they want to do what they can to make this go away and sort of threaten us in the process. We have not felt respected through the process and feel like they believe the maid's story as they keep bringing up that the maid(s) say there was not a sign on the door, which is absolutely false! Now we go to round 3 and lots of time, frustration and effort to be reimbursed for this loss.
The hotel was nice but watch out!!!!
