37 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
We have stayed at this hotel for the last several years, and had always considered it a family retreat with our children, and pets. We were dismayed at how rundown the place had become under the new owners, no staff there in the evening, air conditioners didn't work, dirty, pets ppoping all over, I couldn't even take my children into the pool, because people were taking their dogs in them. With no staff to enforce rules, the place has run amuck!
They used to have a nice continental breakfast, family evening socials and dinners, and doggie socials with bones. The place was very family and pet oriented. No longer, the new owners are obviously out only for profit. The few days we were there (we cut the visit short). A church group was there, and the hotel put up signs all over reserving parking for them. There was no place to park for anyone else. We heard many complaints by other visiters.
Sad to say after 7 years of visits, we will not return.

I really like the Myrtle Beach Mariner. The General mgr, is so nice, we have stayed there several times in the past. I like the fact that they have a smoke free on all their property and are a pet friendly site. All the rooms have kitchens in them...
