Spent a night here in August 09. When most old hotels get restored/renovated they invariably get gutted with all their old fixtures replaced by crappy "ye olde" new fixtures. Not so with the Margarita European Inn. Rather than renovated, i would say this place has been carefully maintained. Except for the individual room bathrooms, and the beds of course, everything seems to be just as it was 60+ years ago. Original fixtures, original furniture etc...
Backed to the bathrooms. I am alway wary about the showers in these older hotels, but, while nothing fancy, the shower in our room was excellent! The hotel also offers rooms with no bathrooms. You have to use a shared bathroom area. I checked out the mens bathroom on our floor. There were about 1/2 dozen showers, toilets and washbasins. All from another era yet immaculately clean.
I am very likely
to return to the Margarita European Inn.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
