Maison Louisiane is perfectly situated in the heart of the Historic District in beautiful downtown Natchitoches, Louisiana. The home was built in 1898 by Swiss immigrants John and Marie Rusca. Noted for it's many outstanding architectural elements Maison Louisiane has been described as "one of the best examples of the Queen Anne styles in Natchitoches" (Natchez Historic Foundation). Maison Louisiane is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has undergone a painstaking restoration. The interior is breathtaking showcasing sixteen foot ceilings on the main level and fourteen foot ceilings on the second level. Original elements include massive cypress pocket doors, pine floors, and ornate exterior woodwork. The guest bedrooms all feature private baths, most with whirlpool tubs, plush robes, color TV and coffee and hot tea stations. A full breakfast is served each morning in the formal dining room.
