No new hotel rooms have been permitted in this exclusive region of New Orleans since 1972.Don't settle for one of countless hotels crammed at the edge of the French Quarter in the "Rope Walk" area of New Orleans. For accommodations within the true heart of French Quarter, choose the Maison Dupuy. For A Distinguished New Orleans History? The Maison Dupuy has long stood as a prominent landmark of New Orleans. Our French Quarter hotel was built on the site of the nation's first cotton press, constructed by New Orleans' first elected mayor, John Pitot, in 1602. Eventually, two brothers, Clarence and Milton Dupuy, purchased the site and transformed seven town homes into their magnificent family residence. The Maison Dupuy, or "House of Dupuy," soon became the most elegant housing in the French Quarter, and continues to maintain the largest and most beautiful courtyard in the Vieux Carre.

Loved the photos on the internet. Wish we could have stayed wherever they were taken.
Staff is borderline hostile. The award goes to Marvin Bell, the parking attendant. I heard other guests talking about his attitude. Very surprised he has not
We upgraded our room to a balcany & would recommend doing so. Our room was quite nice, the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a little small but the water pressure in the shower was great. Clean & comfortable hotel. Close to all the ...
We generally liked this hotel and its location. I thought it was very cute, and the courtyard looked very nice. I wish the weather would've been nice enough to enjoy it and the pool.
When we checked in, which was still very early in the day,...
Not a horrible place to stay but the rooms are NOT as lavish as the internet and photos portray! We stayed in the King Deluxe and the room was VERY small and the furniture was old. The walls were white and bland and dirty carpet. They will not turn...

We were very much looking forward to our romantic getaway but, unfortunately, a series of unfortunate experiences caused by your hotel, caused this weekend to be ruined.
First, upon check-in we learned that the hotel pool/courtyard was going to be closed from 4:30PM on Saturday until Sunday morning because of a private event. While I appreciate the need for a wedding to be perfect, I was very upset to learn that the courtyard and pool (the reason we chose to stay at Maison Dupuy) would be closed for all that time. We had intended to spend Saturday evening lounging in your courtyard and enjoying its beauty. Because of your hotels decision to book a special event that closed the courtyard, this was not an option. When making our reservation, and again when confirming our stay, we were never notified that the courtyard would be closed.
Once we checked in, we arrived at our room and I decided to go into the bathroom to take a shower to freshen up for the evening. As soon as I stepped in the bathroom, I stepped on a piece of glass that was on the floor and cut my foot. When I looked down I could see what looked like an entire wine glass that had been broken in the bathroom and not cleaned up by your housekeeping staff. While the cut was not serious, it did cause a lot of pain and prevented me from walking around and enjoying the French Quarter. In fact, we were not able to visit the Rodrigue exhibit at NOMA because I could not walk long distances. I immediately called housekeeping and my husband and I waited 45 minutes for them to arrive before finally leaving for dinner. Thankfully, the glass shards were cleaned up when we returned.
When we left for the night, we went to turn off the bedside light and found that the on/off switch had been broken off and the only way to turn it on and off was by unplugging it. During our stay, I called the front desk three times requesting that it be fixed and it never was. Maintenance NEVER came to fix the broken lamp.
By Saturday night, the cut on my foot was really hurting so we decided to stay in the room and watch television and relax for the evening. At about 6:00PM the special events reception started in the courtyard. The music was so loud in our room (room 418) that we could not even hear the television. We called downstairs and were told that it was a wedding reception and there was nothing they could do. This reception didnt end until well after 10:30PM.
On Sunday, we decided to leave as early as possible because we were exhausted by the horrible stay. We gave the parking our attendant our ticket and waited, and waited, and waited for our car. We asked a different parking attendant to find out what was taking so long because at least 5 other guests came after us and go their cars while we were waiting. Finally, after 45 minutes, our car arrived. The parking attendant told us that a church van was blocking us in. We were not offered any refund on our already expensive 48+ hours of parking that we paid for.

The AC didn't work in the first tiny room and there was no place to use a laptop. They moved me to a bigger room, but again had to fix the A/C, fix the in-room safe, fix the bathroom lighting, neglected to fix the bedside light, no do-not-disturb sign, and ran out of TP twice. None of the windows open for fresh air. On day 3, both card keys to the room quit working - they were reprogramed with snarl. Even if the room and service has been acceptable, this place only 1/2 block from Rampart, the dangerous and crime-ridden edge of the French Quarter. All this and it's expensive - do not book here.
