Its very difficult for me to call this place a “hotel”. If you’ve read all of the reviews about this place, and I have, believe me, (and I speak from bitter experience) you should believe all of the negative reviews! I stayed at this “hotel” 3 years ago, on July 14, 2004 and went home to Pittsburgh with close to one thousand bedbug bites!
After returning home, I called the “hotel” was offered no apology.
I had to stay overnight in New York because my business there took longer than I expected. I found this “hotel Madison” while searching for one at about 6:30 pm after my last meeting. Initially, because the lobby was renovated, it looked acceptable and well priced. I asked to see the room and she gave the key for room 707 to her colleague and he took me up to inspect the room. It looked newly painted and renovated and I returned downstairs and accepted the room. The receptionist immediately asked me if I would take another room #1107 because a regular customer, a man sitting in a wheelchair next to me, wanted the room. (By the way, when the elevator door opened, I noticed that the man and receptionist were laughing very hard and stopped when I arrived) I asked her 2 times if 1107 was the “same quality room” and she answered yes.
I went upstairs, dropped off my small bag and left to have dinner. I came back around 10PM and went to sleep, when I awoke and got out of bed, I noticed the sheets covered with spots of blood and dead bedbugs, it was disgusting. I took a shower (even with all the bath bugs around and I left at 6:30 am with nowhere to go at that hour. Anyway, I finished my business that day and by the time I arrived home that evening at 10:10PM, hundreds of bites and marks had developed all over my body.
By the way, if you do research on this hotel you’ll discover that its listed in the “Escort Services” sites throughout the internet as the place to go in NYC. This place should not be classified as a hotel for people such as me who have a family. I equate the word hotel with hospitality, and kindness not rudeness, lies, flies filth, and every insect species in North America in your bathroom and under your bed. I have traveled the world for decades, and have never come across anything like this, nor would I expect it in New York City of all places!
Believe me this is a reflection of the hotel owners and how they view the general public: with utter contempt. They have almost 100 rooms and can afford to take care of these problems. I’ve returned to this forum several times over the past 3 years and have noticed that nothing has changed. It’s apparently still filthy, still not the way a hotel located in the gateway to the world should be, and most importantly still many unhappy clients. It should be closed down, cleaned of all its filth and its bad employees who seem to hate everyone who walks into the lobby.
As I said, not even an apology, that’s all I wanted. I became so angry and disgusted that I called my attorney. That’s 3 years ago, still no apology.
