The staff was great but the rooms in the West Wing were somewhat disappointing. Our sink constantly was plugged up and slow. The toilet clogged at one point. Housekeeping came pretty late in the day and when we requested a rollaway bed we were informed that the West Wing had a policy against them. Also, the layout of the bathroom in relation to the room was completely impractical. There was no door enclosing the bathroom area so everytime the front door opened anyone in the hallway could see into the bathroom. Bottom line: no privacy in the bathroom.

This was my third trip and again had a blast. Room rates mid week were $79.00 a night with my players club card. I have never had problems with the staff. They always have been nice and polite to me. I do very little gambling, usually video poker but I always use the card. My rooms so far have been just fine. Yes, this hotel is BIG but you're in Vegas, you will have to do some walking. I really enjoy the location. You have the Mandalay, Luxor, NY-NY, all on the monorail line across the strip. The main Monorail from the Mandalay to the Stratosphere has a stop at the MGM. the bottom line. This hotel is a lot of fun. There is plenty of things to do right on the property. Try and avoid the weekends and always use your players club card and you will have great room offers. Will be going again in April.

I am very likely to return to the MGM Grand.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

MGM Grand is one the most classiest fun hotels I've stayed at in Vegas. My stay was made much more interesting after a visit to studio 54, & i realize that 54 might be a separate entity from MGM Hotel but nonetheless...54 itself is still a great club, had a great time with the patrons and music; however some of their male bartenders are complete idiots. after telling one bartender, (who was dressed as a road warrior for the Halloween night in the rear bar of the 1st floor) that i was not with the annoying drunk girl who was trying to buy her drinks on me, he proceeded to tell me that i had to pay for them or he would call security and then to get the f*** outta his face. i laughed & told him to enjoy his 50$ tab he just bought as i walked away. later he pointed me out to a bouncer who said i had to leave. i did as i took pictures of all the guards escorting me out which then got me hounded by a little blond lady with a bad tan & an armenian gentlemen who didnt speak very good english. luckily the brilliant tanned lady decided she was going to call her supervisor to arrest me for tresspassing, i again was amused. the super came over & politely let me go on my way then scolded the two for acting like they were anything more than 2 dime-a-dozen secuirty guards. 2 hrs later me & my friends were in the MGM gambling and drinking to the resentment of the low class studio 54 staff. All in all a great dance floor and a great night.

Vegas hotels are vegas hotels, don't expect intimate, subtle surroundings but as they go the MGM is great. Vibrant , buzzing , plenty of food choices and helpful staff. Check in was a breeze , with an upgrade offered ( for a fee of course but reasonable) and the king size room was spacious and very comfortable. Upgrade from basic recommended.

We're not great gamblers so plenty of people watching locations to have a drink and watch the world go by.

Central location means there's not much you can't walk to.

Non smoking rooms are a must ( if you're sensitive) but you can never get away from the smoke anyway, it's all through the corridors......

For us was a typical vegas experience and if you're in the room for extended periods you're not experiencing all Vegas has to offer.

MGM , thanks we 'll be back ....

Booked hotel for one reason. Lazy River Pool. Was totally dumbfounded to have to pay $16.00 to rent a tube (needed two @$32.00) to float around on. In addition, had coupon for poolside drink offer, i.e., "Buy one get one free" only to have that refused/denied after being told by the poolside waitress that it (the price of one drink) would be debited at check-out. FYI, the two "extremely small and watered down" drinks totaled $23.00 (1 ea. Cadillac Margerita @ $13.00 and 1 ea. Mango Madness @ 10.00), excluding tip. After staying at numerous MGM-Mirage resorts (Bellagio, New York, NY, and MGM Grand) I considered myself a "valued" customer only to be misled and treated with distain. From now on, I will only frequent Harrah's resorts.

I am not likely to return to the MGM Grand.
I would not recommend it to friends.

MGM is a great hotel to stay at on the strip. It has great food, shopping, pool, poker room, nice casino, clean rooms, and is very affordable. Last time I stayed at the MGM I spent the entire day on the endless river, and then went to a steak and lobster dinner, followed by a boxing event, and then went to a club for the night. Becareful when you stay here because you may end up like me and never step outside of this all you can offer resort.

Impressive hotel. As soon as you walk in the entrance you know you are in Vegas as the check in area was massive with huge TV screens.

The hotel is so big it takes forever to escape, which can be annoying after a couple of days.

Hotel room had the latest technology, including a plasma TV in the bathroom mirror! The room was immaculately clean and the bed was so comfortable.

The pool area was very exclusive. However, the opening times of the pool were a bit inconsistent, and was over crowded when it was open. There were plenty of bars and restaurants within the hotel and by the pool to suit all price ranges. In particular there was an excellent buffet- for $15 per person you could eat as much as you wanted, with foods from all over the world.

The MGM is certainly situated at the best end of The Strip at present since there is a lot of building work at the other end. MGM has access to the monorail which is better than the surrounding hotels.

Did expect the MGM to have more of a movies theme to it though. The Paris and New York hotels are much better themed inside, making you feel as if you really are in those cities.

You've heard all the hype about the MGM Grand. Now let me tell you what it's REALLY like to stay there. My family and I stayed there last July 13 and we will never return again. They have about 5 or 6 pools that are actually quite small for such a large hotel. The pools are always very crowded and unpleasant. We chose not to go in the pools around noon when we saw how crowded they were and also the temperature was about 110 degrees. So we planned to go out to the pools around 7 p.m. when the sun was lower and hopefully the crowds had decreased. Well, we got out there about 7 and were told that all but one small pool was "closed". They packed hundreds of people into the one pool that remained open and that one pool was scheduled to close at 7:45 p.m. So after 7:45 p.m. NO pools are open! I asked an attendant why they closed the pools so early and he said "the hotel doesn't want people spending time in the free pools when they can be spending money at the casinos and in the shows". So apparently the MGM Grand sees their guests as "cattle" to hurd toward money making activities for themselves. This is insulting considering I paid over $200 for a room there. Seeing the hundereds of people in this one small pool packed almost shoulder to shoulder I decided not to go in but my young son really wanted to swim so I let him go in the pool. When he got out he said "You know, the water taisted salty, not like chlorine". I didn't want to tell him that the reason for that was all the sweat of the thousands of people who have been in that small pool all day. It would have made him sick. It made me sick to even think about it. So there you are. That's what it means to stay at the MGM Grand hotel. That's what you get for your $200 to $300 per night. Have a great trip!

We arrived happy and excited for a five day stay. The front desk informed us they did not have our reserved room with two queen beds. The people at the front desk had a script and they just keep repeating it... so I did too. I refused to leave until we all had room keys in hand. We waited about 4 hours to get the room. All over the MGM there seems to be an arrogance, an attitude that we just don't care. The food is too expensive for the quality. My friends and I had a good time despite the MGM because we loved the pool and because we always have a good time when we are together.

If you are planning a trip to Las Vegas I advise you to look elsewhere.

I am not likely to return to the MGM Grand.
I would not recommend it to friends.

I stayed at the Mansion at the MGM Grand hotel. It is the premiere all suite hotel in all of Las Vegas. The comfort and the service there are as good as they get.

It was an awesome experience. I recommend staying during the week for a lower price.

The staff makes the hotel extremely enjoyable. Everyone is very polite. Although the location is not central, there is plenty to do and see.

This hotel made me feel content: As large as the hotel is, there is room to escape with few people around. The pool area is divided for adults and those with children.

The room design was different but cozy. We needed a toothbrush and someone came in a timely manner to deliver it.

This hotel made me feel secure: Our room was in a wing separate from the casino, so it was far enough away from the visiting foot traffic.
