The Luxor hotel is an excellent hotel. Its location on the Strip provides easy access to most major attractions. The service in the hotel is very good.

I am very likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

On my first trip to Las Vegas I looked forward to staying in the pyramid. My husband had raved about previous stays at the Luxor. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and the full service restaurant on the casino level. However, the hotel was overall a disappointment. The lighting in our room was poor, bedding similar to a cheap chain hotel and the A/C was not working well throughout the building. The TV remote did not work and during our six night stay our room was not vacuumed nor the hallways. Staff was pleasant and helpful but a neat, clean look is important. I had the urge to vacuum for them!

I am not likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

We had planned a girl’s getaway weekend and our hotel room was in the Luxor Pyramid. Finding the elevator that takes you up to your room is nearly impossible, and there is only one elevator.

We stayed in a room on the 16th floor and the carpet was buckling all the way down the hall. The first thing I noticed about our room was the disgusting smell. We were told that this was a non-smoking room, but by the way the room smelled, I have to wonder. There were water stains on the draperies and condensation on the filthy windows. There were also water stains/mold in the bathroom. Don't plan on taking a hot shower there because the water was lukewarm most of the time and there was no bathtub. The sheets on the bed felt like sandpaper and made me itch like crazy making it extremely difficult to sleep.

The food at the hotel buffet was mediocre at best and pretty pricy. The casino itself was dark, dank and disgusting, that also describes the way that I feel about our room. I will never stay in the Luxor Pyramid again and neither should you!

The location makes it convenient to visit other South Strip casinos. The decent sized rooms are clean with upgraded fixtures. This includes marble counters in the bath. There is a good variety in food choices with everything from fast food, a buffet, cafes and upscale restaurants. There is a large casino with tables games, poker machines and a large variety of slot machines. There is also shopping in the walkways that connect to other casinos. They also have a other diversions including IMAX theatres and a showroom for its shows and special events.

I am very likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We enjoyed our stay, it is a nice hotel. However, you do need to be prepared to walk. The elevators are located in two opposite corners of the pyramid, so unless you are lucky enough to have a room right by the elevator, you have to walk halfway around the hotel to get to your room.

I am not likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

This is about the fourth time staying at the hotel. It is a very nice mid priced hotel on the south end of the Strip. It is not the nicest but it is very comfortable and with a very good staff. It is a bit of a walk to other areas on the Strip.

I am very likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The Luxor hotel is not in a handy location for central Strip activities but one can get to the Mandalay Bay and Excalibur without ever going outside. The rooms in the West Tower are a tad on the small side but comfortable. They do not have in room safes so you must use a safe deposit box in the reception area for locking up valuables. This is somewhat of an annoyance. There usually is a line so you will end up wasting some time there. All of the slot and casino hosts I dealt with were very personable and knowledgeable. Getting to talk to one at the One Club Booth almost always involves a moderate wait due to the line. I ate at the Luxor Steakhouse and The Pyramid Cafe, both in the Luxor hotel and at Georgio's restaurant in the mall between the Luxor and the Mandalay Bay. All three had really good food and service. The hotel has a very nice pool area as well.

This hotel made me feel content: The stay was a break from the everyday routine to play in a slot tournament. I had been there several times before and I am always content when I am there. My slot hostess always makes sure I have everything I need.

I am very likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

It is a fabulous place. We stayed in one of the tower rooms away from all the noise. The service was wonderful as were all the amenities.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: Just being there away from work was relaxation in itself. The spa was very relaxing.

I am very likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

Overall it was a great hotel. The only problem we had was we needed a refrigerator in the room for medicines which was not provided. We called the hotel, four days before arrival, to have a refrigerator in the room. When we arrived, there was no refrigerator in room and I had to wait almost four hours to get one.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

I liked the hotel. I liked the choice of food, drink and activities. It was huge, with lots of shopping areas. I loved the decor.

This hotel made me feel hip: People were coming there to take pictures and see the hotel and I was a guest. That made me feel cool.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.

Parking was awful, there was very little parking available and the distance from the garage to the lobby was unacceptable. Check in took over thirty minutes. The hotel is extremely outdated. I was also extremely irritated by salespeople trying to sell property to me as I walked towards the lobby. The room itself was modern and nice, but there was nothing remarkable about this hotel at all.

I am not likely to return to the Luxor Hotel and Casino.
I would not recommend it to friends.

member icon A sewage smell in the room, cold showers

42 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for business

I'm presently writing this from my room at the Luxor and we will never stay here again.

We've complained four times about the sewage smell coming out of the drain in the shower and I'm sure there is a high bacteria count in there. They cannot come up with a way to fix it and we both woke up this morning with sore throats. I'm thinking about bringing in a mold tech to take a sample.

During the busy morning hours when a lot of people are taking a shower, you can expect it to be lukewarm shower. This morning it was less than lukewarm and I literally came out of it shivering.

The local poker players rate the poker room here as the worst in Vegas and that was just when I was at Mandalay Bay playing and someone asked where I was staying.

Never again, don't bother.

Right on the major strip, the Luxor provides access to all the other major hotels right near by. The casino didn’t provide much luck and the rooms were small, but it was a Las Vegas find. The price was cheap to be close to all the action. Although I didn’t get a chance to use the pool, the restaurants were not too bad. Not as nice as say The Venetian, but it’ll do.

Impressive from every angle. Even when I am not staying at the Luxor, I make every effort to stop by it and just take in a bit of Egypt.

Exceptional effort was taken to make the hotel feel authentic.

With plenty of souvenir shops and areas to take pictures of this hotel is one you'll want to bring your mummy to.

Take the museum tour and see an Imax movie it'll be worth it.

The hotel is in a good location but they are overrun with too many maintenance issues. The pools weren't all working, and there was construction going on inside the facility, and not a lot of food to choose from.

I was told to find a new hotel if I didn't like my accommodations. I asked about a free pass to the gym and it's $20 per person to use their facilities. What a load! We paid $300 a night for that pig of a room and they couldn't even throw in a free workout.

I'll never stay there again. But the problem is, the same company owns MGM, NY NY, Excalibur and several other casinos.

Stay at an independent. The Hard Rock is off strip, but it’s nice. The Tropicana will go out of their way to make you happy. Even WYNN would be better than the MGM properties mass circus act.
