Lone Fir Resort Hotel - Page 1

This is exactly what we expected from a small town on the side of a volcano! Ok, so our expectations weren't much, but based on the other review on this site, we were surprised to see just how off-base the previous review was. Upon our arrival our room was ready - it is the middle of winter, and I am writing this review from our comfy cabin via their free wifi!

The toilet is located in the bathroom behind a closed door - shower and hot water also included. All hotel personnel has been very friendly and accomodating. The meals (and beer) are great as we have had the opportunity to take part in both!

The heater does indeed work - we actually got too hot and were making sure that the heat could be turned down in the middle of the night! There was a heater in the main room of our cabin as well as our bedroom.

Screens are on the windows, and there is a large fan in the room also, but I don't expect we'll be needing it right now!

This is our second night at The Lone Fir and we are very pleased with the place!

We picked the Lone Fir based on other good reviews. They must have been the owners posting them. This place is so terrible that we drove home 3 hours after our 8 hour hike just so we didn't have to stay. The room:

1. Had stairs leading to it that were seriously ready to fall apart. My huband and I decided NOT to be on the stairs at the same time.

2. The room had not been cleaned when we checked in.

3. The oven was old and did not work.

4. The "full kitchen" did not include any useable pots or pans.

5. The coffee maker did not work.

6. The toilet overflowed.

7. The room did not have:

a. a clock

b. a phone

c. air or heat of any kind

d. screens on the windows

8. The toilet was sitting in the bedroom (seriously).

It was the worst stay in a hotel EVER.
