I loved the Loews on Coronado Island in San Diego! Lovely hotel, friendly staff, pet-friendly as well. Great location to enjoy the laid-back community.

The service was awesome and the location can't get better. All the rooms seem to have some sort of view of the Pacific Ocean or the bay. Each room also has a balcony. The furniture provided is very comfortable.
On the cons, if the room is anywhere after the 3rd wing, it's quite a walk from the reception. My room was in the 5th wing and the walking time to the reception alone took around 8 minutes!

The facility was nice, but overpriced. The huge tub in the bathroom was a big plus.

Again -- when the room charge is this high, the food and the other services s/b priced within reason.
This hotel made me feel extravagent: At these prices, there shouldn't be extra charges for stuff that less elegant places give away, like bathroom supplies. A bit too much chiselling for that extra little profit.
