My husband and I visted Tamarron for a business trip.I figured for the prices they charge the place would be a little nicer.....Very dissapointed, when we pulled up the outside of the buiding looked very old and run down. I felt the front desk...
We stayed in Room #214 in the main lodge. It was a loft room with two twin beds upstairs and one queen bed in the main room downstairs. It was stuck in a 70's time-warp! The furniture was just like some my parents bought in 1971! Let's...
I loved it, and want to come back!!!

Last year, we set up a trip to stay at Tamarron. Awesome experience... Reason being... we stayed in the actual lodge. THIS YEAR WAS HORRIBLE! We came back this year and stayed at Highpoint... an area of the resort about a mile away from the lodge. I was told on the phone that we would be about 500 yards from the shuttle/lodge. The buildings have to be more than a mile away, no lie. Way more than 5 football fields. During the trip, there was a major snowstorm and our cars were buried in the snow. We were refused any form of transportation to the shuttle and had to walk MORE THAN A MILE to the lodge. Even on the way back after a day on the mountain We had to walk back a mile up the icy hill because we were told that transportation to our section of the resort was "not a service they provide. It was horrible, a total 180 from last year where we did not have to deal with this customer service that stares up at mediocrity. If you have a 4wd vehicle, or there is no snow, you will probably enjoy your stay because you won't have to rely on the staff. If I was told that I would be screwed unless I had a 4wd vehicle in the event of a snowstorm, I would have paid more for the room at the lodge. On top of that we had $75 in Durango gift cards that we were unable to use because they believed we were trying to get a discount, (which they kept). GIFT CARDS ARE A FORM OF TENDER (PAYMENT)!!!!... NOT a coupon. Amazing mountain, great rooms, but a customer service (or lack thereof) staff that treats you horribly at best.
Beautiful but....disappointing

Mediocre
This is a beautiful place but..... it lacks a lot in customer service and mislead information. I have read on several reviews the same complaints that I have. It seems these same complaints are from year to year so why isn't anything being...
The maid service was a little slow, and that's the one and only complaint I have. The views, location, restaurant, bar, staff, parking, and accommodations were all ideal.
I would never stay at the Lodge of Tamarron again. The service was terrible. No one was at the front desk for about twenty minutes when we checked in. Management never took care of the problems we complained about. The maids did not come one day ...
