I liked the good location and good and well-appointed rooms. Room service was pricey. There's a good view of the downtown. There's a nice lobby to meet and greet fellow business colleagues. It's a nice walk to downtown from the hotel.
pros: Great Menu, Wonderful Dessert, ServiceWe love the rolls, everything that we have ever tried on the menu has been fabulous! And the desserts are absolutely divine!!! The service has always been terrific and the wine is relatively priced well....

The Little America Hotel is on the TRAX light rail line and right downtown near Temple Square. Having stayed at the "Grand America" across the street, my expectations were lower for Little America. I was pleasantly surprised to find Little America a terrific bargain.
Inside, the reception area and shops, as well as the rooms, are very nicely decorated. Given the low price for the room (Travelocity for $89) I found the room to be more than adequate. It was really kind of luxurious! The comfortable beds and beautiful linens made up for the drab building outside. The Courtside rooms have a "motel" feel when you walk the grounds. Inside and out I noticed spots where the paint needed to be reworked, or the carpet or furniture seem a bit worn.
The Courtside ground floor access would have worried me more if I hadn't been in Salt Lake -- large windows and doors that didn't seem totally secure, and the walkway was very dark at night. The food in the coffee shop was very standard fare -- lots of older folks eating mashed potatoes and gravy, with a couple interesting items on the menu. The Steak House restaurant was always packed, but evening service was very slow. The breakfast buffet was quite a bargain, when comparing the prices across the street at the Grand America. They have most of the same selection at a lower price. Frankly, very few of the people working in the restaurants seemed happy to be on the job. I'd stay there again at the price, but might consider a Tower or Garden room.
We live locally, about an hour south of S.L. on 5 acres in the mountains. But ocassionally we need a little city life, so we head to Little America with our 2 grandsons. The staff is great with kids! We ride the trax, go to a show or Jazz game,...
pros: great serviceThe food is over rated, the service is great. We were seated promptly ( we had reservations ) The food is average, the price is not.
pros: Reasonably priced, Wonderful Food, Great ServiceWe have been going to Little America's Sunday Brunch for over 40 years. It was a favorite with my inlaws, who first took my husband and I, and then later with our children. Now we have included ...
pros: Large clean room, Great Location, Great ValueLast week my wife and I visited Salt Lake City for two nights. When my wife walked into our room at Little America she fell in love with it. It was HUGE and CLEAN and very well decorated with great...
pros: Good Parking, Excellent Service, Good FoodTheir Peppercorn/sour cream salad dressing is to kill for! Filet Mignon is very tender and taste is outstanding. The Little America Ribeye steak is the best I've had. It has an absolutely YUMMIE...
pros: Food, Service, LocationIf I remember correctly, there are 3 different parts of the restaurant: The bar, the "family" side, and the "expensive/fancy" side being the best. I took my girl friend to the "fancy" side for Prom and we had a wonderful ...
There's nothing little about it.
