We have stayed here many times being a Military family. It is clean & close to base. They are always ready for us if we need anything. The cleaning staff is wonderful if anything is needed also. Breakfast in the am is always fresh.
We called ahead and explained why we needed a handicap room when we visited Liberty Inn in November of 2006. My husband was a recent quadapligic with a below the knee amputee was why we requested a handicap room.

The location and the pool are the only things this hotel had to offer.
There was rust in the pots and pans, the keypad kept deactivating, the phone wasn't turned on, our room was not equipped with enough linens and when asked for more, we had to go get them ourselves, a bulb was blown, the toilet paper holder broken, and no maintenance workers were available.
The front desk clerk was on a personal phone call with a coke and cigarettes at the counter while we were standing and waiting for a greeting with her toddler kids working behind the desk with her.
The manager seems to have dealt with complaints in the past, since he would not give the owners name to us. When telling him about the problems, he said, "Well, why don't you leave?" Wow, is all I have to say. The staff and the condition of the kitchen were horrible. Unfortunately, the Holiday Inn was booked so we couldn't change hotels. What a terrible experience to have the night before giving birth. I thought it was going to be nice. The problem is I read a good review, I wish everyone was honest since as bad as our experience was, those who rate it high must be joking.

Being a military town, Jacksonville has it's share of seedy motels. The Liberty Inn is locally owned and one of the nicest in the area. We have stayed there many times and have never had a bad experience. While there may be 2 or 3 others that are ...
