Okay
there are plenty of other hotels for $300/night in southern california with a little more ambiance. This is a cross between business/resort and it's not really great at either. Location is less desirable if you are here for the beach (pool is...
71 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
For the high price of a room here you get one (1) hook in the bathroom for robes and a towel (same hook) and two hard to use electrical outlets for cell phones, etc. No attempt has been made to assure simple conveniences and this is a shame on the Marriott name for qualitry. The rooms are clean but small and the high price gives you a small bathroom with a miniscule sink and essentially no counter space. There is little to recommend this hotel to travelers who are expecting a better presentation for the high room rent.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was always clean and comfortable. The location is also great -- an easy walk to restaurants, the pier, and the beach!
We have stayed at this hotel for three consecutive summers 2001, 20002, 2003. The last time we stayed we said we wouldn't go back. The area around the pool is very small and as previously mentioned by another reviewer, very much in the shade....
