28 year old woman with a economy budget

Fort Irwin really needs to open a new hotel to give them some competition! I have stayed at other military hotels and this one is completely over priced! I stayed for 12 days and NEVER did one employee offer to change my sheets! I had to ask, they left me a note almost everyday explaining how they were short staffed and how they did not have enough staff to clean my room. However, I did not receive a discount on my stay! I was charged the full price everynight. My room did not get vacuumed, nor were my beds ever made. It was really disgusting. It is really sad because what other option does the military family have with the 40 minute drive to the city and gas being almost $5.00 a gallon.

I stayed at this hotel last yr omg 2 star what a joke . Where do i start it is run down!Dirty You dont get houskeeping ! had to clean my room myself! Bed bugs, i got bit all over when i stayed there . Roaches , ants and god knows what else crawling around in there. The housekeepers take smoke breaks all day.The manager has a dog on the premises. Probably fleas in this hotel. It amazes me that this being on a army instalation that it is a filthy as it is and why there has not been a health and welfare done on this hotel by garrison flabergastes me . Nasty in one word nasy i would rather pay the 4 dollars a gallon then to ever stay in that elcrappy hotel ever again

I recently moved and had no choice to stay was it worth the 76.00 a night to fit a 4 people in a room.. not really. Had no kitchen only the small fridge and a microwave. You get housekeeping once a day so don't bother asking, the front desk are preoccupied like the don't want to be there. internet access is there if you want to pay 13.00 for a cable no refundable, the laundry is pay and the ice machines are usually broke. Again with gas prices as high as they are, Barstow was not an option 32 miles one way to town.

Well lets see...I booked the more expensive room because I was told it had a kitchen...I'm thinking a stove and sink...right? When I got there, there was a refrigerator- one of the small ones of course, a microwave and a sink....so it was a total waste of money for my family to pay the extra money for this "kitchen". We still ended up going out and buying a lot of junk food- you cant really cook a lot in a small microwave...or at least I cant. The front desk isn't the happiest bunch of people- they are nice they just seem like they want to be somewhere else. The maid for our room wasn't the greatest...and she never refilled my supply of Styrofoam cups- I had plenty of coffee and tea to drink just no cups to drink it in.... So would I recommend this hotel- probably not... Look for someplace in Barstow....you could probably find a hotel that is just as nice as this one for half the price.

The Landmark has clean facilities, a bed, and common amenities you would find at most 2-3 star hotels. It is what it is, don't expect a resort here.

Yes, it smells a little funny because they have air conditioning and are located in the very hot and dry desert, normal moisture issue is not a health concern. It is a nice clean hotel to stay in so that you will be spared the 30-40 minute drive from Barstow. Having stayed in this hotel on five different trips I find that the staff are generally helpful, although it depends on the person. The staff consists mainly of spouses and children of the military service members who are assigned to the post.

Some like their job, others seem to be waiting for the next opportunity. In the end, expect a place to stay and a restful night's sleep. It has what it needs and not much else. I plan to stay there on my next trip because it beats the drive, and the Landmark knows that.
