We stayed at the LakeStar Lodge at Deep Creek Lake in western Maryland. It’s highly recommended! It has a cozy, Inn-like feel. All the rooms are directly lakefront with a spectacular lake and Wisp ski slope views. Apparently it’s just been renovated, it was very clean and with the nicest people at the front desk, they were willing to do anything for us. Our room was on the upper level, with a cozy fireplace and a private balcony (perfect for romance!) They had placed roses in our room to celebrate our anniversary. We had dinner at a restaurant built with logs, it’s called the Pine Lodge Steakhouse. The food was incredible with excellent service. We will be back for snow skiing this winter. It’s one of the finest vacations I can remember! I wish we could have stayed longer.
