Run as fast as you can from this place! – Posted Mar 29, 2009

Horrible
29 year old with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Wow, where do I begin? Door didn't close with out a real good shove, everything was sticky. Lights didn't work, sparked in fact, was afraid to walk barefoot in the shower, sink looked like it hadn't seen some good bleach for at least a year, their "futon" was nothing more than a 2" thick foam pad with stains speckled all over it.

Good things? It was really close to the Polynesian Cultural center and LDS temple.

We have friends who live in Laie, and when they heard we were staying at the Laie Inn their exact words were "Boy your brave". This place is not for the faint of heart, nor for the budget minded - for 2 double beds, (2ppl per bed) it was $120!

Never would I recommend this to anyone. Much better off commuting south to something sanitary. I refused to sleep under the sheets, laid in my clothes on top and hoped for the best.

I am not likely to return to the Laie Inn.
I would not recommend it to friends.

It is what it is... – Posted Jan 07, 2009

Okay

What did I like? $60/night through one of the online hotel sites. What didn't I like? Well... as I write this from the room (free wireless internet - get that in Waikiki), about the only thing I can complain about is the intermittently noisy A/C....

We decided to get out of the tourist trap of Honolulu. We didn't know we were stepping back in time as well when we happened on this hotel. I have been all over the world and look for out-of-they-way family-owned places to soak up local flavor....

Mouse Hunt – Posted Oct 25, 2006

Mediocre

Not only was the bathroom covered in ants, but we had a mouse running around our room all night! The location is perfect, but the rooms made me feel like I was staying in Mexico. Laie gives me the feeling of a dirty Mexican town on a beautiful...
