I recently stayed at the Laie Inn rather than spend $$$ at Turtle Bay. I enjoyed the staff, the outdoor pool, McDonalds was right next door, free breakfast the beach was across the street, beautiful sunrise videos/photos. The Bus was only $2.25, directly in front of the property- great 90 minute ride to Honolulu and a free transfer! downsides: needs to replace rugs with tiles, don't leave ANY food in the room and keep your bags zipped shut
