Location. The historic Lafayette Hotel, built in 1916, stands on fashionable St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, La. Part of the Margi Gras parade route, the hotel is seven blocks from decadent Bourbon Street and overlooks Lafayette Square. Hotel Features.
