Good
This hotel has a fantastic view of Cayuga Lake and the Ithaca area you can also see Cornell as well. The rooms are spacious and are furnished with nice furniture. Only downside is that the Commons, where a lot of the restaurants and shops are, is...

we just finished a weekend at la tourelle it was just nasty. We stayed in the tower room the bathroom sink is in a closet the toilet and shower are on the opposite side of the room . The bed linens are very old and cheap . a foam mattress is on this 70;s circular bed. The heat died at some point and we were freezing in the morning. There was so much dust in the room we kept on sneezing after we arrived. We asked for another room but they said it was the best they had!!!!!!!!!. $275. a night for a nightmare!!!

Excellent
This is a lovely place located on 60-70 acres just outside Ithaca. The rooms are beautiful and very cozy. You can even have a fireplace. The services are all great.
The grounds are gorgeous, but there are wonderful parks to hike in...

I have stayed here multiple times.
The rooms are quite large, feel very comfortable.
They offer Turn Down Service. The bathrooms are quite large, with dual shower heads giving a spa type experience. The staff has been friendly.
A previous reviewer discussed the restaurant. There is a steak house on the property, but detached from the Inn. I have not gone there as it is quite expensive. Therefore I would review the steakhouse separate from the hotel.
The breakfast from the in hotel restaurant has always been quite good, with excellent omelets, and french toast, and a wide variety of pastries, fruit and juices.
Rooms have refrigerators and internet access. The only difficulty is finding a power outlet to run a computer. Much of the Hotel is an older building, so they do have power, you just have to look for it.
Overall very comfortable and a place I would recommend highly.

I had such high hopes when I booked to stay here. Then I got there. The rooms are very plain, the food at the on site restaurant is outrageously expensive and disgusting (no lie, McDonalds would have been better), it was the first time Ive gotten a filet from a steakhouse that was half fat. Also, at 4:15 in the morning the fire alarm went off due to an electrical fire in a room. All the guests where forced to sit in the lobby with very few seats for at least an hour as the fire alarm went off the whole time. The staff didn't wake any guests up, the one girl on staff sat in her office staring at the phone for someone to come save her. The hotel offered nothing for the inconvenience. It was my worst experience at a hotel, ever.
