Last weekend we stayed at the Okeechobee location for 2 nights and were not happy at all with our stay. We went to check in at 3pm and there were barely any rooms ready and clean. They said it was because they were fully booked for the dog show and dave matthews concert that weekend. They should have know that a head of time and been ready, The lobby was full with a very long line and only 1 person working. We had to settle for a smoking room with double beds, when I reserved a non-smoking king room. We needed to check in on time because we had things to do. Then all the door locks were not working. Everyone was having issues getting into their rooms including us. This delayed our process even more. Then our friends next to us a/c was not working and the maintenance guy had to come replace the whole thing. This made us late for our event and I was not happy. Both myself and our friends also noticed bugs over our stay. For advertising newly renovated rooms, it truely was not worth at all what we payed especially with the service and inconveinance of getting checked in. The rooms do not look renovated at all!! Unfortunately, after this stay, i will not recommend la quinta's. We come every year for the dave concerts and don't think we nor our friends will be staying there next year. I was not happy at all spending $250 for such a low quality hotel
