La Quinta Inn Tampa Bay St Petersburg Hotel

A friend of mine told me once that La Quinta meant "next to the Denny's restaurant" in Spanish.

This property didn't even have that going for it. Albeit it was close to the meeting I had the next day I would strongly advise steering clear of this property unless you have exhausted all other options.

I have always been pleased with my accommodations at the La Quinta hotels. The rooms are clean and nicely furnished, the price is reasonable and the locations are good.

The hotel literature said the pool was heated but it was ice cold, as was the water in my room for the first day. On the second, and final, day of my stay, I was greeted by a 2 1/2" cockroach in my shower. It flew all over the room until I killed it. The continental breakfast did not include "pastries" as listed and the front desk staff was very unhelpful. I'd never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. It's the cheapest hotel in the area, now I know why.

It is a really attractive hotel, clean and neat. It has spacious rooms and comfortable beds. I enjoyed my stay at the La Quinta hotel.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: The hotel had a very inviting atmosphere.

I did not like this hotel's location in downtown St. Petersburg. Tourists would fare better in St. Pete Beach or Clearwater.
