The renovated La Quinta Inn and Suites-Tacoma convention center is located along the banks of Puget Sound, just minutes from the Tacoma Dome and Mount Rainier. Rooms are clean and spacious and well equipped with free high-speed Internet access. There's a nice heated pool area, as well as a Spa, games room and well-equipped Fitness Center. The Ports of Call Restaurant seems nice although I didn't have time to eat there. There's also a pleasant lounge area. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Despite the passed shelf-life continental breakfast and a couple of other pet peeves, I could not have been more pleased than I was with the room and the pool. I think that as far as value in Tacoma, this is the best.

49 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
It was a comfortable stay. The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The only problem I had with the hotel was getting to it off the freeway. There weren't very good directions and I didn't know the area very well, either.
