La Quinta Inn and Suites Orlando Lake Mary Hotel

We stayed at LaQuinta in a suite for 6 days in March of 2007 - When we came back to the area again in March of 2008 and another couple travelled with us, since we had a good experience in 2007 we decided to stay at LaQuinta again, reserving 2 suites (reservations made on 11-09-07 and confirmed on 03-01-08) What a mistake! When we arrived on 03-01 one of the suites had been booked for that night - we were offered a single room and after much hassle, LaQuinta did not charge us for that room. The suite was available on 03-02 but that involved moving - another hassle! The elevator to the rear parking area rarely worked and there were several times that our rooms were not cleaned each day, bed made and clean towels put out. We also heard similar complaints from other guests we spoke with.

Between March of 2007 and March of 2008 the hotel became dingy - - The carpet in the single room was dirty - hem falling from the sheer curtain in the suite - pull rod for drapes in the bedroom on the floor, patches on doors, etc. Possibly this hotel is under new management but no return visits from us in the future.

I arrived at 11 pm ,and no one was manning the front desk area. I had to wait a good 15 minutes for someone to appear, even though I yelled "Hello" a few times. Then they tell me that they oversold and are moving me to another hotel for one night and will pay for my stay. I ended up staying at the other hotel and canceling my stay here. They had already charged my card and upon returning home contacted them. It took 3 voicemails on the manager phone, plus a call to corporate to get a refund. Their staff was rude and unwelcoming!

The outside and inside were very well kept up. The personnel were friendly and the room was comfortable. They treated me as if I was someone special.

This hotel made me feel respected: They quickly signed me in. They asked if there was anything that I would need extra, like pillows etc. They gave me a wake up call on time.

It was a great find because it was everything we wanted in a hotel, plus they allow pets. We'd stay there again in a minute if we were in the area and needed a hotel.
