43 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
We just returned from a week long stay at the La Quinta Hotel in Secaucus, NJ.
The hotel room was spacious and comfortable, but when we flushed the toilet it was very noisy, so we had to call the front desk and they fixed it.
They advertise free internet connection, but after the first day we couldn't access that from our room, and had to bring our laptop in the lobby. The service actually worked only three days from our room. The air conditioning units are VERY noisy, and there is no air conditioning in the common areas, and it was supposedly 'broken' in the lobby as well.
The complimentary breakfast is very good, and they offer a big variety of items every morning.
We wanted to print our boarding passes the day before we left, but they only have one computer connected to a printer in their 'business center' ( a room with two computers). When I finally managed to sit at the one computer where I could actually print, I found out that the cartridge was empty. I called someone, who came and took the whole cartridge unit. I then waited and waited for his return, only to find out that the replacement cartridge was in a room where they needed a special key, etc. etc..... To make a very irritating story short, the cartridge was never changed. Perhaps they should have a spare cartridge in the 'business center'?????
A final note: someone obviously couldn't make it to the bathroom in their room fast enough, so he/she went in the elevator.....the urine smell was pretty bad, and we noticed that the stains were not cleaned.
If you need a hotel with a good connection to Port Authority (the 320 bus stops just across the street from the hotel), want a good breakfast to start your day in the city, and don't care too much about the details, this is for you.
The beds are comfortable (pillow top), and the suite we had offered two TV sets, which really help if you have children with different TV viewing habits (like we do).
