The rooms are extremely small and cramped with barely enough room for two people to move about comfortably. The AC was nonfunctional and provided no relief from the hot weather. The ocean can only be seen if you're standing out on the small balcony,

36 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for business
I travel a lot for business and needed a place to stay in San Diego and so I decided on spending a few more bucks to stay in La Jolla. I stayed at this hotel and was very pleasantly surprised! I don't understand some of the negative responses I've read on this hotel but I couldn't have been more pleased. The location is outstanding and they are just steps from the beach, shopping, and sightseeing. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant. I had asked the front desk if I could borrow some paper, stapler and tape for a presentation I had to give and they gave me theirs from their desk without a moments of hesitation. They also have a continental breakfast in which they serve in the morning but it doesn't start till 7:30am. I had asked if I could receive a muffin and some orange juice at approximately 6:00am and again they were very accomdating. I looked at some other hotels in La Jolla and the La Jolla Inn was definitely the best bang for the buck! I highly suggest staying at this hotel for I plan on coming back!
