Location. The LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort overlooks Naples, Fla. s Platinum Coast, and is located five miles from downtown Naples. Hotel Features. Crystal chandeliers, canary yellow walls and deep green tropical plants greet guests as they enter the marble-floored lobby. The eclectic Baleen, an all-day dining area, serves seafood on a terrace or in a mirrored banquette. The Baleen Bar serves cocktails, and the Tiki Hut is the hotel's thatched-roof poolside grill. Social functions and meetings are accommodated by 11,000 square feet of facilities, including the Bayview terrace and the Vanderbilt ballroom. Business amenities include high-speed Internet access and a staffed business center. The pool complex features cascading freeform pools, a tropical terrace, tiled spa tub, teak garden and covered cabanas. SpaTerre, the Indonesian-inspired spa, includes rose-petal-filled Japanese tubs and scented showers. The fitness center features an upstairs studio with classes for aqua aerobics, Pilates and yoga. Guestrooms. Guestrooms boast sliding French doors that lead out to brick-floored balconies that overlook the gulf or bay. Iron four-poster beds with butterfly netting are dressed in pillow top mattress, Frette linens and down pillows. French-louvered doors open into marble baths and double pedestal sinks. Accent tables offer SpaTerre toiletries and waffle-weave bathrobes. Amenities include desks with leather writing pads, armoires, minibars and free-standing mahogany dressing mirrors. During the early evenings, staff will turn down the bedding, put some light jazz on the stereo and dim the lights for a welcoming atmosphere upon arrival from a night out. My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend here on our honeymoon. I have stayed in many 4* and 5* luxury hotels around the world, and this has become one of my favorites. The service, setting, decor, intimacy, and dining were all top notch. Beautiful, quiet, private beach away from the crowds of the Ritz and state parks. Can't wait to return!
