While traveling to the Xenia, Ohio area for an emergency situation, we found ourselves in need of a place to stay. All we needed was a shower and a bed. We arrived at 8:52 pm on 09.22.06. Upon first inspection of the room, it seemed acceptable. We immediately went to bed because of our early starting time the next morning.
At 6 am we arose and to discover that the cold water knob in the shower had been broken. So, at that point we made the decision to wash up and hit the road. We went to the front desk and told the lady about what we discovered. She replied that "the handyman was told fix it", this made be very angry. Not knowing of a problem is one thing, but knowing of a problem and not taking care of it is another. So I demanded to speak with the manager and I was told that he wouldn't be available until noon. So I gave the lady my phone number and ask to have him call me.
Noontime came and went, and to this moment, I have not spoken to the manager. However, I called back and was given instructions to speak with the marketing manager. The lady said she would have the marketing manager call me by 9 am on Monday 09.25.06 and, again, 9 am came and went, and no phone call. So I called back and demanded that due to the unprofessionalism of this business and its employees that I be credited the amount of my stay. They were very quick to offer another stay at a later date. But having this stay as an emergency situation, I have no intentions of being in Xenia, Ohio again. The marketing manager did go on to say that I should have called them to notify them of the problem. Again, from the time I discovered the issue and reported it was within 15 minutes. And it was not my job to tell them of broken pipes in their rooms. It's now Tuesday 09.26.06 and I have not heard from the manager or Knights Inn corporation regarding my complaints.
I do not recommend to anyone that might be considering a stay in Xenia, Ohio to stay at the Knights Inn. Again, all I ask is to have my stay refunded, but obviously at this point I am not very hopeful.
